On January 20, 2025, all staff of Taiyun CNC received 5S management training.
5S management is a field management method originated in Japan, which aims to improve work efficiency, improve the working environment and cultivate good habits of employees through five steps: sorting, reorganizing, cleaning, cleaning and literacy. The name of 5S comes from the first letters of five Japanese words, namely:
Seiri: distinguish between necessary and unnecessary items, remove unnecessary items, and reduce waste and confusion.
Seiton: Place necessary items neatly in the specified positions and clearly mark them for easy access and return.
Seiso: Keep the workplace clean, remove garbage, dirt and debris, and ensure that the equipment and working environment are clean.
Seiketsu: Standardize the practices of sorting, reorganizing and cleaning, and continue to implement them to form institutionalized management.
Shitsuke: Cultivate employees' habits of abiding by the rules, improve professional literacy, and form a sense of consciously maintaining the working environment.
The core goal of 5S management:
Improve work efficiency.
Reduce waste (time, space, resources).
Improve the working environment and enhance safety.
Cultivate employees' awareness of norms and sense of responsibility.
Application areas of 5S management:
5S management was originally applied to the manufacturing industry, and later gradually expanded to the service industry, medical care, education and other fields, becoming an important tool for modern enterprise management.
Steps to implement 5S management:
Make a plan: clarify the goals and implementation scope.
Train employees: let employees understand the meaning and operation methods of 5S.
Execute 5S: gradually implement sorting, reorganization, cleaning, cleaning and literacy.
Check and improve: regularly check the implementation, find problems and make timely improvements.
Continuous optimization: integrate 5S management into daily work to form a long-term mechanism.
